Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions

Where will my shoot take place?

I shoot either in a studio which is less than half an hour from London Bridge or an outdoor location which is a short walk from Leicester Square station. Also, I now shoot at an outdoor location in Watford for those who don't wish to travel to central London. Once you are booked in for a shoot all the exact details will be sent over to you in a confirmation email!

What happens if the weather is bad?

When shooting in the studio we are protected from the elements and so we can still get you all the same amazing shots! Make sure you pack a brolley to protect you between the station and the studio and all will be well! Even when shooting outdoors the location is completely protected from the rain.

What should I wear?

My advice here is bring as many options as possible! It is always better to have too many options than too few.....though this doesnt mean 20 versions of the exact same top in different colours. I go into a lot more detail on my pre shoot email but I find that dark and neutral colours are always a winner, as are tops or jumpers with some texture to them. Layers are also excellent too. So if you've got a jacket with a not too distracting collar make sure to pack that too! Other than making sure to avoid large prints or logos I find that nobody knows what looks good on you quite like you. Oh and make sure you don't screw them up into a backpack. There is no worse feeling than someone bringing a top that is perfect but so creased it draws the eye!

Do I have time to shave during the shoot?

If you wish to shave during the shoot I recommend booking the studio package as it's the only one which gives us enough time to shave without rushing. Trust me, your skin will thank you for the extra time to settle down. It's important to ask yourself if you really need to shave though. Consider how you would enter an audition room for a first round and that's how your face should appear!

Can I purchase additional images?

Yes! You can purchase as many additional images as you like. These are all processed through the gallery website and are an additional £15 for each retouched photo.

How quickly will I recieve my pictures?

All your photos will be uploaded to an online viewing gallery within 24 hours of your shoot finishing. This gallery allows you to preview low resolution versions of the images in order to select your favourites and discuss with me any issues you may have before retouching. Once you have selected and paid for your images you will recieve the high resolution images to download within 7-10 days. If there is an urgent need to get your shots sooner than this please let me know and I will be happy to make sure that happens.

Can I edit my own pictures?

In short the answer is no. I make sure to edit my images to a professional standard and anything other than this would do a disservice to both my work and more importantly you as a performer. I am always happy to discuss retouching and editing and strive to provide images which you are happy with. A headshot is one of the most important tools of an actor and I thank-you for trusting me with yours. Also, I ask all clients to refrain from adding additional filters or editing when uploading images to social media.

Can I have all the unedited photos?

Again in short the answer is no. Unretouched photos are merely the starting point from which we build and again putting these out into the world would be a disservice to both me as a photographer and you as a performer.

My question isn't answered here!

If your question isn't answered here or elsewhere on the site, please don't hesistate to get in touch with me on my enquiry page and I will get back to you as soon as possible!

Do I need to pay a deposit?

On all my shoots I ask for a deposit which is taken off the full cost of the shoot. This covers my upfront costs such as studio rental and allows me to block out the time you need. The remainder of the shoot cost should be paid by bank transfer 24 hours before the shoot time or by cash on the day. Deposits are non refundable unless I can fill your time slot. If I am no longer able to make your shoot time due to any unforseen circumstances I will first try to rebook your shoot at a time which is convenient for you. If this isn't possible then you will recieve a full refund.

Are you taking any additonal measures due to Covid-19?

I understand this is an incredibly stressful and difficult time for everyone in our industry and I am doing everything possible to make sure my shoots are as safe as they can be. Social distancing will be observed at all times. This won’t effect the quality of images we get at all as I shoot with a long lens (70-200) but I will no longer be able to show you the images in the back of the camera whilst we shoot. Hand sanitiser will be available and anything you might come in to contact with will be cleaned between clients. When travelling to the shoot on public transport I will of course be wearing a mask and gloves and I encourage all my clients to do the same. I am also happy to wear my mask to shoot in on top of keeping my distance if this makes you feel more comfortable. All deposits will be refundable even on the day of the shoot if due to Covid-19. Your safety is my number one priority and if you feel I've missed anything or could do more to keep you safe please drop me a message.
